A former military President, General Ibrahim Babangida, has said that Nigeria is in ‘safe hands’ under President Goodluck Jonathan.
The former military leader, IBB, as he is popularly called, made the observation during a meeting with President Jonathan on Tuesday in Niger State.
President Jonathan was in Niger State in continuation of his nationwide campaign and he visited the former leader at his uphill residence in Minna, the state capital.
General Babangida said he shared the same passion with Jonathan in making sure of a peaceful, stable and developed Nigeria.
“Whenever I discuss with him, I see a young man who has passion for Nigeria. Under Jonathan, Nigeria is in safe hands.
“All Presidents this country has produced have come to Minna for blessing and today that you have come, I will offer you that blessing,” the former military leader said.
He also commended the Peoples Democratic Party for going on the right path, as the party had remained devoid of religious and ethnic divides.
