As the Super Eagles prepare for the friendly match against the United States of America today, there are strong indications that injured Elderson Echiejile may not make the team just as Austin Ejide’s wife has been delivered of a baby girl.
Tribunesport scooped that Echiejile, who sustained injury in the match against Greece, did not train with the team on Friday following the scan he had, to determine the level of the injury. By press time, the result of the scan was still being expected.
It was also disclosed to Tribunesport that Ahmed Musa who strained his muscle trained lightly with the team and later had a special walkout exercise with the team’s physiotherapist in an effort to make sure that he is fit for the match which the team desires to win.
Meanwhile, the Super Eagles camp was thrown into a frenzy when the news of Austin Ejide’s wife’s safe delivery of a baby girl was broken to the team.
Chitto, Ejide’s wife, according to the information made available to Tribunesport, gave birth on Thursday evening and the players joined their colleague in celebrating the arrival of the new baby into the family.
Meanwhile, the African champions will confront the US national team this evening in a friendly match in Florida before they head to Brazil for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
