Coach of the national U-23 team, Samson Siasia, has named 21 players for the friendly games against Tunisia in Tunis and another 32-man team for the expanded Super 6 competition in Abuja.
Siasia said the players were selected based on their performances, insisting that neither of the two teams is superior to the other.
“We want to present strong teams at both events to avoid being disgraced. All you need to do is go out there and show the world what you have to offer because that is the only way you can finally make this team,” Siasia said while addressing the players.
The 21 players for Tunisia:
Goalkeepers: Daniel Shinkut, Akande Asimiyu, Bala Mohammed.
Defenders: Okorom Stanley, Obanor Erhun, Oduduwa Tope, Sani Faisal, Amuzie Stanley, Sincere Seth.
Midfielders: Azubuike Okechukwu Godson, Effiong Emmanuel Etim, Obochi Peter Eneojo, Godwin Savior Amunde.
Forwards: Odibo Godwin, Tiongoli Tonbara, Omofoman Freedom, Etebo Peter, Ajayi Oluwafemi, Adetunji Sunday, Peter Onyekachi, Ewenike Chibuike.
The 32 for Super 6:
Usman Mohammed, Newman Doubra, Solomon Ayoleke, Ikenna Nwobusi, Faisal Sheriff, Iroha Chukwuebuka, Christopher Madaki, Chijioke Omeke, Olawale Doyeni, Moughara Dede, Temitope Jayeola, Michael Okoro, Edmund Chinedu, Ubakanma Peter, Sunday Lawrence, Eze Chisom, Chinedu Obasi and Osita Simon.
Others are Oyeleye Adeniyi, Izumi Okoronkwo, Josemaria Oteze, Jonah Usman, Daniel Amackson, Andrew Michael, Emmanuel Daniel, Baker Ebiabowei, Ola Adeyemo, Akande Abiodun, Jonatham Osondu, Ichull Lordson, Austine Amutu, Abubakar Danbala, Ibrahim Adamu, Yahaya Adamu and Zaradeen Usman.
Siasia will lead the team to Tunisia on Thursday, while assistant coach Fatai Amoo will be in charge of the team taking featuring in the Super 6.
