Super Eagles &
Enugu Rangers forward Osaguna Ighodaro has continued to impress the Super Eagles coaches in training as preparations intensify ahead of Saturday’s 2015 AFCON qualifier against the Red Devils of Congo.
The young striker has carried his impressive league form to the Super Eagles camp and with the duo of Victor Moses and Osaze Odemwingie absent, could yet feature at some point in the game.
Certainly, barring any injuries, Fenerbahce of Turkey powerful striker Emmanuel Emenike should lead the line for Nigeria but SL10 can report that Osaguna’s performance in training could force Coach Stephen Keshi to look his way especially if all goes according to script.
Meanwhile, another player who has also been impressive is newly invited El-Kanemi Warriors goalkeeper, David Obiozor who is seriously battling Chigozie Agbim for the second goalkeeper’s slot.
Even though Agbim is more established in the team and is expected to understudy Austin Ejide – who gets a chance in Vincent Enyeama’s absence, Obiozor has definitely caught the eyes with his reflexes and excellent command of his goa area.
The game gets underway at 5pm local time at the UJ Esuene Stadium in Calabar.
