Nigeria defeated Yemen 2-0 in an international friendly played at the Sevens Stadium in Dubai.
Goals from Mfon Udoh and Azubuike Egwuekwe were all the Eagles needed to bounce back to winning ways following their painful 1-0 defeat to Cote d’Ivoire.
The only change in the starting lineup that lost to the Elephants was Steven Ukoh who replaced Kingsley Sokari who failed to bounced back from an ankle knock.
Nigeria wasted begging chances that came their way in the opening minute of the game, while Yasser Al Gabr was a thorn in the flesh of the Eagles defence but was occasionally marked out by Nelson Ogbonnaya.
Amokachi’s men however paid off in the 25th minute as Udoh got the curtain raiser – his first international goal since his debut against Ghana U-23 side at the Akwa Ibom Stadium.
The Yemeni side showed determination to fight back but could threatened the solid defence of the Eagles as Solomon Kwambe continued his brilliant form at the rear.
Egwuekwe sealed the win with his 64th minute effort that dimmed every hope of the Asian side to fight back.
The team is expected back in the country on Sunday morning to continue preparations for the 2016 Africa Nations Championship qualifiers.
