Jonathan’s rally: Soldiers occupy Rivers Amiesimaka stadium

posted in: News | 1

Battle ready soldiers have reportedly taken over the Adokie Amiesimaka Stadium, located in Igwuruta-Ali in Ikwerre Local Government Area, ahead of President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign rally in the stadium.

Jonathan is expected to be at the presidential rally of the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers on January 28.

While the state government refused to approve the application from the state PDP for the use of the Adokie Amiesimaka Stadium for its presidential rally, soldiers reportedly took over the place on Friday night.

Tony Okocha, Chief of Staff to Governor Rotimi Amaechi, described the action of the PDP and the Presidency, who might have directed soldiers to forcefully enter the stadium, as criminal.

Okocha called for calm and promised that the matter would be reported to the international community.

  1. Fools. What are u going to report to the international community? That a governor is trying to over-power the president of a country? Let it be clear to u dolts that the president goes to anywhere he wants to, uses any facility he wants to cos he’s commander-in-chief. If he decides today his campaign rally will take place at the River state government house, nobody can stop him. Worse when the stadium has been used by the oposition party. Amechi should know he can never be even the vice president of Nigeria let alone president and should respect the one who had the privilege. Shame on him. I thought he said he’s gonna fight? Why the cry-baby thing now? All u guys a misconstruing Jonathan’s civility for weakness, even the so-called ex-generals and ex-heads-of-state. If he so wishes he can arrest all of u and throw you into prison and nothing will happen. Nigeria’s Armed forces as of today belongs to him and can only obey his command. Don’t put me in the position of teaching u how the military operates cos some of u should know better. And for some of u so-called ex-generals that are fighting Jonathan because he released Al-Mustapha that whom u guys wrongly incarcerated and wanted him to die in prison, u’ll be sober sooner than later.
