Global Sports : PSG To Discuss Zlatan Appeal

Paris Saint-Germain will discuss whether or not to appeal Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s controversial sending off against Chelsea, according to manager Laurent Blanc.
The Sweden striker was shown a straight red card following a challenge on Oscar in the first half of their Champions League last-16 triumph at Stamford Bridge.
PSG have to lodge an appeal to UEFA within 24 hours of the incident if they hope to see the card rescinded and their talisman feature in the quarter-finals.
After a 2-2 draw that saw the tie finish 3-3 and PSG go through on away goals, Blanc said: “I haven’t had a chance to look though the footage.
“There will be a committee who will convene to talk about the decision and I hope he will be in our party for the quarter-final.”
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho revealed that he spoke with Ibrahimovic after the game and he “hopes UEFA can minimise the mistake and let him play the quarter-final”.
Mourinho admitted PSG were the stronger side and deserved to progress – and the Parisians’ manager Blanc agreed.
“We played the better football and created more chances. Even a man down, the players were very ambitious. We defended very well and it was a fantastic performance from the whole group,” he said.
“We want to be one of Europe’s top clubs. This game will be seen as a turning point in the history of the club and I’m really happy tonight.
“We won’t forget this game. At the end of the match, everyone came together. You’d like to freeze time to appreciate it fully.
“Jose Mourinho came to congratulate me and I really feel like he has respect for PSG.
