Former Brazil captain Cafu has revealed his admiration for Bayern Munich stars Bastian Schweinsteiger and Philipp Lahm, who are expected to play a key role for Germany at the World Cup.
Cafu is especially impressed with midfielder Schweinsteiger.
“Germany have a strong team who have performed well recently. Along with Brazil they’re among the favourites,” Cafu told Kicker.
“What impresses me most is Bastian Schweinsteiger. He is a complete player who has been an enormous help to his team, Bayern.”
He added of the versatile Lahm: “He is really fantastic. He is just as good on the right as on the left. He’s a player that every coach would like to have on their team.”
The 44-year-old Cafu, who represented the likes of AC Milan and Roma, skippered the Samba Boys to a 2-0 victory over Germany in the final of the 2002 World Cup.
